We are starting a book group in Family Leadership Center’s new CircleIn!
It is free to anyone who is interested in in-depth exploration of Adlerian Psychology. In the tradition of Adler, interest is the only requirement for joining. We will be meeting monthly starting November 17 at noon ET.
Our monthly gatherings will be held over Zoom. Facilitated by Dr. Amy Lew and Marjie Longshore, Ed.M., the format will include small and large group conversations as we explore ideas together.
We will be reading the books in small chunks, so we can delve deeper into the theory and share our thoughts and questions about what we are reading. The first week we will be reading the first 25 pages of The Collected Works of Lydia Sicher: An Adlerian Perspective edited by Adele Davidson.
Lydia Sicher was an early colleague of Alfred Adler, whom he chose to lead the family guidance centers in Austria when Adler moved to the US. Sicher herself then moved to the US and lived in California where she served as the second president of NASAP. (The first president was Alexandra Adler.)
In her book, Sicher provides a way of understanding Adler's theory that is clear, insightful, and deep. Reading her works provides a rare opportunity to understand Adler's theory through a woman's voice.

We hope you can join us. Please share with anyone you think might be interested in joining us. Even if you are not able to obtain the book in time for the group meeting, come anyway!
