“Emotions & Their Precise Opposites” will be presented by Calvin D. Armerding at this free open monthly meeting of the Adlerian Network.
About the presentation:
• Alfred Adler observed that people are in a constant state of movement: striving away from a "felt minus" and towards a "felt plus." This brief workshop demonstrates the use of two simple questions during life style investigation to precisely assess clients' movements, thereby improving empathic understanding and efficiently assessing life style.
Goals/Objectives of the Presentation:
1. Define Adler’s concept of “felt minus” and “felt plus” and explain how these ideas inform client movement and life style assessment.
2. Apply two targeted life style investigation questions to identify clients’ movement patterns and enhance empathic understanding in clinical practice.
3. Describe how Adlerian life style investigation techniques can be integrated into counseling sessions to improve efficiency and therapeutic understanding.
