Grief is undeniably one of the most difficult human emotions to heal from. Unresolved grief over the course of one’s lifetime can lead to long term depression, addiction, or other mental health problems. When individuals encounter a significant loss followed by overwhelming experiences of grief, it can become difficult to want to connect with others and embrace life again. As this occurs, the core of one’s human existence, including one’s sense of belonging and contribution, is affected. Adlerian theory is a comprehensive psychology for understanding people and the motivation behind their actions. It also provides an artful approach for working with hurting clients through a relational method of inspiring change. Offering a straight-forward and clear-focused training style for applying Adlerian tactics to grief-stricken individuals, Dr. Bauman will guide helping professionals in their journey of connecting with and motivating hurting individuals to move forward in the midst of their pain.
