We are delighted to invite you to our next NASAP Education Section gathering on Thursday, November 19, 2026, featuring Daniel Pilgrim, who will lead an interactive conversation on “Belonging in School.”
Drawing on Adlerian principles of belonging, purpose, and social interest, Daniel will explore five ways students may seek their place in the classroom: competence, failure, compliance, defiance, and humor.
Together, we’ll explore how behavior serves a social purpose, why the same behavior can mean different things in different contexts, and how we can look beyond what a student is doing to understand what they may be trying to achieve.
